"Random Thoughts on Tantra" by Veno
"I present myself to god without shame, fear or apologies."
"Alot of people and beings seek power on the spiritual path. It is very hard to get to that ultimate state of selflessness..."
"I knew a guy that was a vaishnava, then became a tantric and then became a moslem..
one can spend their whole life looking at different paths without ever looking at the path of the self..."
"Some people say they are too busy to meditate, too busy for prayer, too busy with so many responsibilities, job, family, earning money. No matter what activity you do in life with all its responsibilities, spiritual reflection in the mind is always there and so you can learn from just about anything. Some tantrics say you can see the infinity of god in a brillo pad, that is true. One can keep doing what they are doing and stay fixated on the ultimate goal."
"Imagination is everything, the place we reach impacts the world, we can change the world just by our internal power, and when enough souls do that on their own, then the world itself changes, so we should never give up on our personal quest in that way."
"People feel bad sometimes on the spiritual path if they can't give up their bad habits. But there seems to be other interesting questions around that like,
What will happen if i don't? Will god abandon me? Will I abandon god? Am I bad, am I dirty, do I need to be punished? Why do i feel dirty? Is god not in the wine too, and in every desire, sensation, craving that runs through my being as well? Does god just rule cleanliness, and somebody else's idea of cleanliness? "
There are many self appointed holy people who like to hide behind sastras and what not, but one should not forget they are in full naked view, "all" of the time..
Kali is black because her ways are secret, invisible, one does not know what maya is up to in her ruthlessness to destroy. She creates all kind of chaos to help establish order. She can take any form, she can dazzle, confuse, terrify, entice. She does not discriminate using singular logic, her comprehension is all consuming, she does not miss a thing. She is Krsna's weapon, she works herself up into a frenzy in her divine hunger to coax out the demon's crowning weaknesses of lust, ego, pride, greed until she can no longer contain herself and in an ecstatic moment blasts the enemy with the universal powers of annihilation.. When the universe is in the state of collapse,Shiva has to pacify her. By this point Kali is so drunk on the blood of her victims, and her mocking laughter and screams can be heard far and wide. With Shiva's help in pacifiying the great queen the world is restored to order once again until Kali's roaming tongue tastes another qualified victim. It is a dance of ecstasy and surrender to the lord many times over, a beautiful divine play. She is the great mother. Death is her signature and Birth is her gift.
"Spiritual paths often have strong structures with clearly defined guidelines or set of rules but it's also important to allow yourself power to discover your own inner structure, to make decisions on your own about creating a structure that works for you. This is the nonstructure of the eternally present self."
"Let's pretend we're like a newborn baby who has no particular likes, dislikes, preconceived judgements about anything, not a single rule has been formulated, the baby exists in the most primal purest state of innocence possible. If the baby is given a drop of wine, does the baby have a sense of wrong or right about it, or does the baby just experience. Wine might feel good to the baby so the baby tries it again and again and forms its first rule "wine is good". In that moment it has now lost its innocence and has acquired a past (remembers the wine)., present (experiences the wine) and future (wants more), and is no longer living in the moment. It is better for one to constantly try to rejuvenate that original state of innocence that the baby originally started with over and over, in every single moment, alertness with an open heart and mind. The innocent wonder of the child is the liberated mind of the sage. If you want to strip things down to root basics, the meat cleaver and the cow are one and the same to one who is utterly innocent.
There's real bliss which stems from pure devotion and humility and then there's just intoxication. Intoxication might be anything - mantras, alcohol, pride etc.
"Sometimes doing something is not as bad as the reason why we hold back, so understanding that properly is more important. We should have a deep sense of enquiry about everything we are doing at any given point in time.
"The outer guru wants to protect his disciple all the time. He tells you don't do this, don't do that, because he knows if you do, it might lead to attachment, it might at that particular stage in your life lead you down the wrong hole, you might get stuck, but just not doing that thing is not going to set you free. "
"Sacrifice is a noble thing. Some think tantra is an excuse for their own indulgence, but it's about sacrifice. Only when God is smiling, will God give you something to smile about."
"Once we reach the ultimate place of Narayana,
Sattwa is all consuming. This is a natural growth process. We should always stay fixated on the ultimate goal. The left hand is considered dangerous, one can fall many times, but natural is the keyword in spiritual development. One should strive for discipline at the pace that suits, otherwise repression can occur. One can repress something for an entire lifetime under the guise of discipline, only to find the thing they were repressing becomes a bigger monstrosity the next time.. so always continuous observation of the self at any given time regardless of which activity, a form of alertness is continuously required on the spiritual path along with intense devotion, that is more important than whether we can meditate a day for 2 hours, or remember to do a particular puja ..or whether we decide to live like a frugal ascetic or live in the world with children and family."
"We are like weary ravens in the desert dying for a drop of water, but wishing for a raging storm. The storm is in ourselves, only in love for god can we find what we are looking for."
"Samadhi is the ultimate form of enjoyment, but even despite those experiences one can fall under atachments of different kinds in subtle ways."
"Prevention is not always the cure, and not always the teacher."
"Couples say they'll love each other for ever and then sometimes people switch in a single second.. because love between humans is a transitory experience, and any human can suffice in reality because we're all made of the same stuff.. that's the real truth of it, love is not confined to any single person or object in reality."
"Everybody plays their role in the divine play, karma rearranges and keeps balancing itself, so actually the play of the world is perfect, the divine lila..when consciousness elevates the play might change also.
Internal rearrangement is what happens when we move closer to god.. ...and refinement begins to take place in our outer world.."
"One can practice sadhana all the time.. nearly in every waking moment one can practice ways to keep god in the picture. It is a discipline at first which then becomes an overwhelming need and then becomes automatic instinct. It can happen even when one is doing everything else. Self love doesn't happen by loving the self. It happens by loving god and putting your mind there as much as you can.One should put their mental focus on god and let the life take care of itself. There is no need to dwell on what you want, need, or fear. The universe knows it better than you,
so best just to spend your mental time acknowledging those powers."
"One should not get trapped in any single thing. The universe is fluid and has all the time in the world. The moment we start the process of denial we cause an instantaneous separation from god. The moment we embrace something, yet we should be able to deny it in the same breath. That's the only true freedom there is."
"What is heaven for one is hell for another and vice versa..
when the mind succumbs to neither happiness or sorrow one has made a little bit of progress"
"there is only humility or non humility"
