“I have lots of things to teach you now, in case we ever meet, concerning the message that was transmitted to me under a pine tree in North Carolina on a cold winter moonlit night. It said that Nothing Ever Happened, so don’t worry. It’s all like a dream. Everything is ecstasy, inside. We just don’t know it because of our thinking-minds. But in our true blissful essence of mind is known that everything is alright forever and forever and forever. Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago and not even at all. It is all one vast awakened thing. I call it the golden eternity. It is perfect. We were never really born, we will never really die. It has nothing to do with the imaginary idea of a personal self, other selves, many selves everywhere: Self is only an idea, a mortal idea. That which passes into everything is one thing. It’s a dream already ended. There’s nothing to be afraid of and nothing to be glad about. I know this from staring at mountains months on end. They never show any expression, they are like empty space. Do you think the emptiness of space will ever crumble away? Mountains will crumble, but the emptiness of space, which is the one universal essence of mind, the vast awakenerhood, empty and awake, will never crumble away because it was never born.”

This passage by Jack Kerouac expresses the celebratory and otherworldly beauty of his writing lord, exalted Venus in the 8th house in Uttarabhadrapada conjunct moksha lord and Ascendant nakshatra ruler Ketu. Alot of his writings had a metaphysical undertone as denoted by a powerful 8th and 9th house.

Magha rises on his Ascendant denoting someone who gets to occupy a throne in life and he was regarded as King of the Beat Writers. His kingly Ascendant lord Sun occupies the 7th house with writing planet Mercury. Mercury is quite strong having exchange with Saturn showing a mature intellect and a deep understanding of people, although it gave him ups and downs in domestic living. The confluence of 3rd and 10th lord Venus conjunct Ascendant nakshatra lord Ketu and Ascendant lord Sun conjunct Mercury in angle opposite his Ascendant meant he was born to be a great writer.

The 8th house gives him post humous fame, but Ketu there with Venus shows underlying delicate health and a tendency to indulge or be reckless. Mars in fourth in Scorpio indicates a very passionate emotional nature.

Mars propulsion energy from its position gave him sudden meteoric rise in his career even though he had been struggling for a long time with 10th lord in 8th aspected by malefics.

His full Moon birth gives him a remarkable perceptive quality in relating to others or as a psychologist and Moon along with the planets in 8th give a shy, receptive and tender quality to his personality along with a tendency to live in his imaginative environment.

His Rahu Dasa, particularly Rahu Jupiter from 1957 proved quite good for his fame as did Saturn maturity, when he turned 35 years of age. Rahu is heightening his 5th lord potential for fame and Saturn is also benefiting being a kendra lord conjunct trine lord Jupiter and involved in exchange. Jupiter’s nakshatra and sublord Mars plays great role in this.

But these second house planets were also responsible for his decline in health and his alcoholism, especially with addictive causing Rahu there . Saturn is debilitated in navamsa, and Jupiter his 8th lord surrounded by malefics in the sign of Virgo, show problems in the digestive region.

He died of internal hemorrhaging caused by cirrhosis of the liver during his Rahu Dasa, ketu maturity at the age of 47 years. His 8th lord Jupiter occupies a nakshatra of Mars whose sublord is also Mars. Rahu is a powerful maraka being placed in 2nd with 6th and 7th lord Saturn exchanging with 2nd lord Mercury from the 7th house, conjunct the 8th lord Jupiter.
